BabyTrack · Last updated: 9 September 2026
BabyTrack (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a mobile
app that lets you document a pregnancy or a baby’s growth with one photo per
week and play those photos back as a timelapse. This policy explains what data the
app handles and how. We designed BabyTrack to keep your content on your device.
1. The short version
- Your photos, notes, profile names and dates are stored only on your device. We cannot see them and they are never uploaded to our servers.
- Creating an account is optional. If you do, a third‑party sign‑in provider (Google Firebase Authentication) processes your email address, your name if your provider supplies one, and a unique account identifier.
- We do not run analytics or advertising SDKs, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share personal data.
2. Data stored on your device only
The following never leaves your phone unless you export or share it yourself:
- The weekly photos you take or import, and any notes you attach to them.
- Project data: the name you give a project, mode (pregnancy or baby), current week, profile side, estimated due date, birth date, and your chosen reminder day and time.
- App preferences such as language and ghost‑overlay opacity.
This data is held in your device’s local application storage. Deleting the app
removes it. We have no copy and cannot recover it for you, so we recommend keeping
your own backups of important photos.
3. Optional account data
If you sign in with Apple, Google or email/password, authentication is handled by
Google Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) acting as our processor.
It stores:
- Your email address.
- The display name provided by Apple or Google, if any. With “Sign in with Apple” you may choose to hide your email, in which case Apple provides a private relay address.
- A unique user identifier and basic authentication metadata (sign‑in timestamps, provider used).
We use this solely to create and secure your account. Signing in does not
currently back up or synchronise your photos — they remain on your
device. If cloud sync is added in a future version, this policy will be updated
before that feature ships.
4. Device permissions
- Camera — to take your weekly photo. Images are processed on‑device (cropped to a 9:16 ratio) and saved to local app storage.
- Photo library — to let you import an existing photo for a given week or choose a profile picture, and, if you allow it, to save a copy of each weekly photo to your gallery.
- Notifications — to schedule your weekly reminder. Reminders are generated locally on your device; we do not operate a push‑notification server and send you nothing remotely.
You can change or revoke any of these permissions in your device settings.
5. Sub‑processors
No other third party receives your personal data from us.
6. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
- Performance of a contract — processing account data so you can sign in and use account features.
- Consent — camera, photo‑library and notification access, which you grant through the OS prompts and can withdraw at any time.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the service secure and functioning.
7. Data retention
- On‑device data is kept until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
- Account data is kept until you delete your account.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or
delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing.
- Delete your account: in the app, go to
Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your authentication record.
- Delete on‑device content: delete individual photos and projects in the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything.
- For any other request, contact us at the address below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data‑protection authority.
9. International transfers
If you use an account, Firebase Authentication may process your data on Google
servers located outside your country, including in the United States, under Google’s
standard contractual clauses and safeguards.
10. Children
BabyTrack is intended for adults — expectant parents and parents — to
document their own pregnancy or their own child. The app is not directed to children,
and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Any photo of a baby is
content created and controlled by the parent or guardian on their own device.
11. Security
On‑device data is protected by your device’s own security (passcode, biometrics,
OS sandboxing). Account authentication uses Firebase’s encrypted infrastructure.
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your
information.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update the “Last updated” date above when this policy changes.
For material changes we will provide a notice in the app or on the store listing.
